Two chances at the Northern Lights, in one of the best places on earth to see them. Tromsø sits right under the auroral oval, and this tour gives you two guided chases — one by minivan, driving out of the city wherever the skies are clearest, and one on a luxury catamaran on the Arctic fjords. In between you meet reindeer and the Sami people who herd them, and spend a day behind a team of huskies. It suits couples, honeymooners, families and first-time visitors to the Arctic who want the big winter experiences in six days, with comfortable city hotels (Thon Opera in Oslo, Thon Tromsø) and private airport transfers in Oslo.

Tromsø is the heart of the trip. Three nights in the Arctic capital give you two evenings of aurora hunting and two full days of Arctic activities — the reindeer safari with a Sami tent visit, and a long husky safari through snowy valleys. Don’t miss a walk across the Tromsø Bridge to the Arctic Cathedral in your free time, and the cable car up Mount Storsteinen for a view over the city lights.

Oslo bookends the journey. You arrive in Norway’s capital and stay near the Opera House, then return for a final evening on a dinner cruise on the Oslofjord before flying home.
