Two Scandinavian capitals built on water, joined by a ferry, castles and the lakes of southern Sweden — this 5 Days Copenhagen and Stockholm Tour is a short, easy way to experience the design, history and calm beauty of the Nordic countries in one guided coach journey. It fits neatly into a longer Europe holiday or a week of annual leave. It is planned and supported by IMAD Travel, an IATA-certified travel agency in Hyderabad serving travellers from across India since 2011. If you would like more days or a private trip, our team can arrange this same route, or a similar one, as a custom package for your family or group, with your own dates and hotels — just quote the tour code IMAD-EU-61650 when you contact us.

Hotels with buffet breakfast, the arrival transfer, the coach with a guide, panoramic city tours in Copenhagen and Stockholm with local guides, and the ferry crossing from Denmark to Sweden are arranged before you leave.
Copenhagen, the happy capital
Copenhagen is famous for its quality of life, its bicycles and its easy charm, and the tour gives you a full day and two nights to enjoy it. With a local guide, partly by coach and partly on foot, you see the Little Mermaid on her rock by the harbour, the painted 17th-century houses and wooden boats of Nyhavn, Amalienborg Palace, home of the Danish royal family, the Town Hall Square and the area around Tivoli Gardens, one of the oldest amusement parks in the world. The afternoon is free for a canal cruise, the shops of the Strøget pedestrian street or an evening at Tivoli.
Kronborg, a ferry and the lakes of Sweden
The road north leads to Helsingør (Elsinore), where the great Kronborg Castle — the setting of Shakespeare’s Hamlet and a UNESCO World Heritage Site — guards the narrow strait between Denmark and Sweden. A ferry of about 20 minutes carries you across to Sweden, and the drive continues through a landscape of forests and wide lakes. You stop in Jönköping, a modern little city on the shore of the huge Lake Vättern, with time for lunch, and then in Vadstena, a peaceful lakeside town of old wooden houses, a grand 16th-century castle and the abbey founded by Saint Birgitta. In the evening you arrive in Stockholm.
Stockholm, the city on fourteen islands
Spread across 14 islands where Lake Mälaren meets the Baltic Sea, Stockholm is one of Europe’s most beautiful capitals. The panoramic tour takes you into Gamla Stan, the old town — ‘the city between the bridges’ — with its narrow lanes and ochre houses around Stortorget, the main square, where the Nobel Prize Museum honours the prize winners, past the Cathedral and the Royal Palace. When possible, you also enjoy the view over the water from the Fjällgatan viewpoint. The rest of the day is free: the guide can arrange an optional visit to the City Hall, where the Nobel banquet is held, and the Vasa Museum, home to a 17th-century warship raised almost intact from the harbour.
Who this tour suits
This 5 days tour of Copenhagen, Kronborg, Vadstena and Stockholm suits travellers with a short holiday who want a first taste of Scandinavia; couples and honeymooners looking for a calm, stylish city break; families who like a guided tour with hotels and transport arranged; and travellers already in Europe who want to add the Nordic capitals. To see the fjords and Oslo as well, look at our 13 days Classic Scandinavia tour; to continue into Eastern Europe, the 14 days Scandinavia and Eastern Europe tour.
Best time to go and visa
May to September is the best time — long, bright days (it hardly gets dark in June), green countryside and outdoor cafés by the water. Spring and autumn are cooler and quieter, and winter departures bring short days, cosy cafés and Christmas lights. Denmark and Sweden are both in the Schengen area, so one Schengen visa covers the whole tour for Indian passport holders. Our visa team prepares the file and books the appointment — start about two to three months before travel.
Good to know before you book
Breakfast is included every day; other meals are on your own, and Copenhagen and Stockholm both have Indian and vegetarian restaurants. Guides on this tour are bilingual, speaking English and Spanish. Scandinavia is more expensive than southern Europe for meals and transport, so plan a little extra for spending. International flights into Copenhagen and out of Stockholm are booked separately — our team can book them from any Indian city and add extra nights. Prices start from €730 per person (₹80,300 at €1 = ₹110, October 2026) on twin sharing, excluding GST and TCS, and are recalculated for your exact travel dates and season.
