Six capitals around the Baltic Sea — Stockholm, Helsinki, Tallinn, Riga, Vilnius and Warsaw — and two sea crossings, including a night on a cruise ferry through the Åland archipelago: this 12 Days Baltic Capitals Tour links Scandinavia, Finland, the Baltic states and Poland in one guided journey. It is planned and supported by IMAD Travel, an IATA-certified travel agency in Hyderabad serving travellers from across India since 2011. Prefer to travel at your own pace? Our team can also arrange this same route, or a similar one, as a custom package for your family or group, with your own dates and hotels — just quote the tour code IMAD-EU-61759 when you contact us.

Hotels with buffet breakfast, the arrival transfer, a cabin on the overnight ferry, the ferry to Tallinn, the boat to Suomenlinna, the coach with an English-speaking guide, city tours of Stockholm, Tallinn, Riga, Vilnius and Warsaw, two lunches and entry to Turaida Castle, Rundale Palace, Trakai Castle and Grutas Park are arranged before you leave.

Stockholm, built on fourteen islands

Your journey begins in Stockholm, the elegant Swedish capital spread across fourteen islands linked by bridges. The panoramic tour leads into Gamla Stan, the old town, where the Nobel Prize Museum stands on Stortorget square near the Cathedral and the vast Royal Palace, with a stop at the Fjällgatan viewpoint whenever possible. The next day is entirely yours — the Vasa Museum, home to a 17th-century warship raised from the harbour, and the City Hall, where the Nobel banquet is held, are the classic choices.

A night at sea to Finland

In the evening you board a modern cruise ferry with restaurants, shops and en-suite cabins for an overnight crossing to Finland. Get up early to stand on deck at sunrise as the ship threads through the Åland Islands, hundreds of forested islets scattered across a calm sea. After landing in Turku, Finland’s old capital with a strong Swedish heritage, you visit Naantali, a seaside town of painted wooden houses, before driving to Helsinki. In the afternoon a public ferry takes you to Suomenlinna, a UNESCO-listed sea fortress spread over several islands joined by little bridges, with walls, cannons and wide views over the Baltic.

Helsinki to Tallinn

Your morning in Helsinki is free — walk to the white Lutheran Cathedral on Senate Square, the market hall on the harbour or the design shops of the city centre. In the afternoon a ferry of about two and a half hours carries you across the Gulf of Finland to Tallinn, where the next day’s tour reveals one of Europe’s most complete medieval towns, with its towers, walls and Town Hall Square.

Latvia: Turaida, Sigulda and Riga

Driving south past the resort of Pärnu, you cross into Latvia for lunch (included) and a visit to Turaida Castle above the Gauja valley (entry included), then walk in Sigulda and stop at the Salaspils Memorial before reaching Riga. The capital’s guided tour combines the medieval old town with the most extraordinary collection of Art Nouveau buildings in Europe, and the afternoon is free.

Lithuania and Poland

Next comes Rundale Palace, a Baroque masterpiece by the architect of St Petersburg’s Winter Palace, with lunch included, and Trakai, the red-brick castle on its lake island (entry included), before two nights in Vilnius, a Baroque city of churches, courtyards and the bohemian Užupis quarter. Crossing into Poland, you stop at Grutas Park among dozens of Soviet-era statues (entry included) and have lunch in lakeside Augustów, arriving in Warsaw in the evening. On the final day a local guide shows you the rebuilt Old Town, the Royal Palace, the Palace of Culture and Lazienki Park; the tour ends that afternoon, so plan an evening flight or an extra night in Warsaw.

Who this tour suits

This 12 days tour including Stockholm, Helsinki, Tallinn, Riga, Vilnius and Warsaw suits travellers who want Scandinavia and the Baltics in one trip; those who enjoy sea journeys and island scenery; and couples, families and friends who like a guided coach tour with ferries, cabins and the main city tours arranged. It covers many countries, with some early starts, so it suits travellers who enjoy variety.

Best time to go and visa

May to September is the best season — long, bright evenings, calm seas and outdoor cafés in every capital; June brings the white nights and midsummer. From January to March 2027 the tour runs on selected Mondays only (18 January, 15 February and 15, 22 and 29 March), and every Monday from April — our team will confirm the nearest departure. Sweden, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland are all in the Schengen area, so one Schengen visa covers the whole tour for Indian passport holders. Our visa team prepares the file and books the appointment — start about two to three months before travel.

Good to know before you book

Breakfast is included every day, plus two lunches at Turaida and Rundale; dinners are on your own, and Stockholm and Helsinki are expensive for eating out, while the Baltics and Poland are good value. The tour ends on Day 12 after the Warsaw city tour, without a hotel night that day — our team can add an extra night in Warsaw. International flights into Stockholm and out of Warsaw are booked separately — our team can book them from any Indian city. Prices start from €1,715 per person (₹1,88,700 at €1 = ₹110, October 2026) on twin sharing, excluding GST and TCS, and are recalculated for your exact travel dates and season.
