Norway’s three great cities, with its most famous viewpoint in between. This tour makes a loop from Oslo to Stavanger, up the coast to Bergen and back over the mountains via Flåm — the ‘Golden Triangle’ of southern Norway — travelling by scenic train, coastal bus and fjord boat. It suits active couples, families with older children and first-time visitors who want both the fjords and a proper hike, with central Thon hotels, private airport transfers and a porter for your bags from Bergen to Oslo.
Pulpit Rock is the highlight. From Stavanger you cruise the Lysefjord under walls of granite, then hike to Pulpit Rock (Preikestolen), a flat-topped cliff that juts out 604 metres above the water — one of the most photographed views in Norway. The trail is a moderate mountain walk of about four hours there and back, so good shoes and normal fitness are enough. Don’t miss Stavanger’s old town of white wooden houses, Gamle Stavanger, on your evening there.
Then the coast and the Nutshell. A coastal bus brings you to Bergen, with a guided walk and the funicular up Mount Fløyen; then a fjord cruise takes you to Flåm, and next morning the Flåm Railway climbs to Myrdal for the scenic train back to Oslo. You also get a guided tour of Oslo with the Holmenkollen ski jump and Vigeland Sculpture Park, and a dinner cruise on the Oslofjord.
Why go now? This tour runs all year. The Pulpit Rock hike is at its best from April to October; in winter, snow and ice can close the trail, and the day becomes a Lysefjord cruise or a guided winter hike instead. June to August is busiest, so book early for the Indian summer holidays. Norway is a Schengen country — our team arranges your Schengen visa along with the tour. Good to know: the journeys use scheduled trains, buses and boats, and the Oslo, Bergen and Pulpit Rock tours are small-group tours. In small villages like Flåm the order of days may change with hotel availability. For a custom private package — your own dates, private car and guide, upgraded hotels, or a self-drive version — please contact our team for a personalised quote. Breakfast is included daily, plus dinner on the Oslofjord cruise. Flights are booked separately from any Indian city — you arrive in and fly home from Oslo, with no domestic flights needed. Bring hiking shoes and a rain jacket for Pulpit Rock. Prices from €2,585 per person (about ₹2,84,400) on twin sharing, excluding GST and TCS. Final prices are recalculated for your exact travel dates and season.
Other ways to see Norway: short on time? Classic Norway in a Nutshell, 6 days covers Oslo, Flåm and Bergen. For the northern fjords, take Geiranger, Norway in a Nutshell & the Atlantic Ocean Road, 9 days, and for the Arctic in summer, Lofoten Islands & the Midnight Sun, 7 days. See every route on our Norway tour packages from India page.
