Hotels with buffet breakfast, the coach with an English-speaking guide, guided city tours in eight capitals and cities, two sea crossings, evening transfers in Prague and Budapest, and entry to the Holocaust Memorial and Berlin Wall Museum and to Auschwitz-Birkenau are arranged before you leave.
The journey begins in Oslo, where Norway’s capital mixes bold modern buildings with classic ones, wide green parks and sculptures by the water — no wonder it has been named the European Green Capital. A local guide shows you the city before the coach heads east into Sweden, through a landscape of pine forests and quiet lakes. Lunch can wait for Örebro, a small town with a moated castle and an old quarter on a lake, and by evening you reach Stockholm.
Built across fourteen islands linked by bridges, Stockholm is one of Europe’s most beautiful capitals. Your panoramic tour leads into Gamla Stan, the old town, where the Nobel Prize Museum stands on the main square of Stortorget, close to the Cathedral and the Royal Palace; whenever possible the tour stops at the Fjällgatan viewpoint for the classic view over the water. The rest of the day is yours — the City Hall, where the Nobel banquet is held, and the Vasa Museum, home to a 17th-century warship, are popular optional visits.
Heading south, you spend time in the harbour town of Helsingborg before a short ferry crossing to Helsingør in Denmark, where Kronborg Castle — the setting of Shakespeare’s Hamlet — guards the strait. Copenhagen is next, and the following morning a local guide shows you why the Danish capital is famous for quality of life: the Little Mermaid, the painted houses of Nyhavn, Amalienborg Palace where the royal family lives, the Town Hall Square and the area around Tivoli Gardens. After some free time, a two-hour ferry from Gedser carries you across the Baltic to Germany, arriving in Berlin by the end of the day.
A full guided tour of Berlin takes in the historic centre, Museum Island, the Reichstag, the Brandenburg Gate, the shopping streets and the city’s big parks. The tour stops at two places that explain the 20th century better than any book: the Holocaust Memorial and the Berlin Wall Memorial Museum, both included. If you have energy left, an optional trip to Potsdam visits the palaces of the Prussian kings.
On the way south, Dresden shows off the palaces and churches that made it the ‘Florence on the Elbe’, with time for lunch. You cross into the Czech Republic and reach Prague by mid-afternoon for a panoramic tour of the Castle area, the Old Town Square with its astronomical clock and the statue-lined Charles Bridge. The next day is completely free — wander the lanes, take the optional Artistic Prague tour of Malá Strana, St Nicholas Church and the Jewish Quarter with a river cruise, or simply sit in a beer hall and watch the city go by.
Leaving early, the coach crosses Moravia to Lednice, a UNESCO-listed estate of formal gardens around a romantic castle, then passes through Slovakia into Hungary. In Gyor, the city of four rivers, there is time for lunch and a stroll before you arrive in Budapest. In the evening a transfer takes you to the pedestrian quarter, where many traditional restaurants have live music. The next morning’s panoramic tour shows both halves of the city — historic Buda on its hill and busy Pest across the Danube — and the afternoon is free for the thermal baths, a river cruise or the Great Market Hall.
This is the most moving day of the journey. After free time and lunch in Bratislava, Slovakia’s small capital below its castle, you continue to Auschwitz, the former Nazi concentration and extermination camp where more than a million people lost their lives. Today it is a UNESCO-listed memorial and museum, and you have time to visit Auschwitz II-Birkenau, where the trains arrived from all over Europe (entry included). The road then rolls through forests and hills to Krakow.
A local guide leads you through Krakow’s UNESCO-listed Old Town, from the medieval streets to the vast Main Market Square and Wawel Hill, home of the Polish kings. After lunch the tour stops in Czestochowa at the Jasna Góra Monastery, Poland’s great pilgrimage site, which keeps the revered image of the Black Madonna. You reach Warsaw that evening, and the next morning a local guide shows you how the capital rose again after the Second World War: the rebuilt Old Town and Royal Palace (a World Heritage Site), the Soviet-era Palace of Culture, the area of the former Jewish ghetto and Lazienki Park with its Chopin Monument. The afternoon is free for the Warsaw Rising Museum or the National Museum.
This 14 days Scandinavia and Eastern Europe tour including Oslo, Stockholm, Copenhagen, Prague, Budapest and Krakow suits travellers who want the Nordic capitals and Central Europe in one trip; history lovers interested in the 20th century, from the Berlin Wall to Auschwitz; couples and friends who enjoy city life, old towns and ferry crossings; and families who like a guided coach tour where hotels, guides and the main visits are arranged. It covers long distances — some days start early and spend several hours on the road — so it is best for travellers who enjoy the journey between cities.
May to September brings long daylight in Scandinavia, green landscapes and pleasant city weather; June and July are the busiest months. Spring and autumn departures are quieter and cooler, so pack layers for the north. Departures are on Sundays. All eight countries on this route — Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and Poland — are in the Schengen area, so one Schengen visa covers the whole tour for Indian passport holders. Our visa team prepares the file and books the appointment — start about two to three months before travel.
This tour includes buffet breakfast every day but no dinners, which gives you freedom to eat where you like; vegetarian and Indian food is easy to find in all the big cities. The arrival transfer in Oslo is not part of the supplier package, so our team can add one for you. Some days start early, and the Copenhagen to Berlin stretch may use a regular passenger service if the group is small, without changing the route. Carry a light jacket even in summer for the Baltic ferries. International flights into Oslo and out of Warsaw are booked separately — our team can book them from any Indian city. Prices start from €1,715 per person (₹1,88,700 at €1 = ₹110, October 2026) on twin sharing, excluding GST and TCS, and are recalculated for your exact travel dates and season.

For Western Europe, take the 13 days Lisbon to Paris tour with Spain and Switzerland, and for the Adriatic, the 10 days Croatia and Bosnia tour with the Dalmatian islands. See every route on our Europe tour packages from India page.
