See Samarkand without changing hotels. You stay four nights in one 4★ hotel in Tashkent and take the early Afrosiyob bullet train — about two hours — for a full day in the Silk Road’s most famous city, then ride back the same evening. It’s the shortest way to stand in Registan Square, and it suits senior travellers and anyone who prefers not to pack and unpack. The trip starts and ends at Tashkent airport, so you can fly in from any Indian city.
Why Samarkand? For 2,000 years it was a crossroads of the Silk Road, and Amir Temur made it his capital. Its tiled madrasas, the ribbed turquoise dome of Gur-i-Emir and the blue-tiled avenue of Shah-i-Zinda are among the most photographed sights in Central Asia. Don’t miss a silk carpet workshop, where you can watch carpets being knotted by hand.
In Tashkent you’ll see the Hazrati Imam complex, Amir Temur Square and the Lal Bahadur Shastri Memorial, where India’s second Prime Minister signed the Tashkent Declaration in 1966, and end with a free-paced day of bazaars and Magic City.
Why go now? Since 1 September 2026, Indians with a valid multiple-entry US, UK or Schengen visa can visit visa-free for 30 days; everyone else gets an e-visa online in about three working days. See our Uzbekistan visa guide for Indians.
Good to know: the Afrosiyob sells out weeks ahead in spring and autumn, so book 4–6 weeks before travel, and carry your passport on the train day. Flights are booked separately from your city. A child pays the adult rate; an infant travels free.
Welcome to Tashkent, the heart of Central Asia. After immigration and baggage collection, our representative meets you in the arrivals hall. Your private car, with complimentary Wi-Fi on board, takes you to your 4★ hotel for check-in. The evening is free — dinner at a restaurant of your choice (own payment).
