From the blue lakes below the Alps to the cliffs of Capri, this 8 Days Italy Tour Package runs the length of Italy in one week: Venice’s canals, the hill towns of Umbria, the ruins of Pompeii and, at the end, Rome. Few tours reach this many places in eight days, or include Capri and Pompeii at this price. It is planned and supported by IMAD Travel, an IATA-certified travel agency in Hyderabad serving travellers from across India since 2011. Prefer to travel privately? Our team can also arrange this same route, or a similar one, as a custom package for your family or group, with your own dates and hotels. Just quote the tour code IMAD-EU-12696 when you contact us.

The arrival transfer, hotels with breakfast, the train and boat at Lake Orta, the Venice boat and guided walk, the Murano glass visit, the Perugia and Pompeii guided tours and the Capri–Sorrento ferry are arranged before you leave.
Milan and the Italian Lakes
You arrive in Milan, Italy’s capital of fashion and design, and have the evening for the Duomo and the Galleria. The next morning the coach heads to the lakes. At Lake Orta a little train takes you into medieval Orta San Giulio, and a boat crosses to the island of San Giulio and its monastery. At Stresa on Lake Maggiore you can take an optional trip to the Borromean Islands, where Isola Bella’s palace and terraced gardens rise from the water. The day ends in Verona, with its Roman arena and Juliet’s balcony.
Venice by boat
After a morning in Verona you reach Venice around 1 pm. A boat carries you along the lagoon to St. Mark’s Square, and a guide leads you through lanes and over bridges to a Murano glass workshop, where you watch the craftsmen shape molten glass. The rest of the afternoon is yours, perhaps for a gondola ride. The hotel is in Mestre, on the mainland.
Padua, San Marino, Gubbio and Perugia
Day 4 crosses Italy. In Padua you visit the Basilica of St. Anthony, one of Italy’s great pilgrim churches. Then comes San Marino, one of the oldest republics in the world, perched on a fortified mountain above the Adriatic. After lunch the Apennine roads lead to Gubbio, a perfectly preserved medieval town, and on to Perugia.
Perugia, Assisi and the south
A local guide shows you Perugia, the city of chocolate. Escalators carry you through an underground medieval town up into its hilltop squares. At Assisi you have time for lunch and the frescoed Basilica of St. Francis, then you drive south to Naples.
Capri, Sorrento and Pompeii
A ferry takes you from Naples to Capri, where the funicular climbs to the piazza, with views of the Faraglioni rocks and lemon trees everywhere. In the afternoon you sail on to Sorrento, a town on a cliff over the bay, and stay in Salerno. The next morning a guide leads you through Pompeii, the Roman city frozen by Vesuvius in AD 79, with its streets, houses and frescoes. Then comes free time in the historic centre of Naples, a UNESCO site and the home of pizza, and a stop at Cassino, where the abbey on the hill saw one of the fiercest battles of the Second World War. You arrive in Rome in the evening.
Who this Italy tour suits
It suits travellers who want more than the classic Rome–Florence–Venice circuit; couples who dream of Capri and the Amalfi coast; families interested in history, from Pompeii to Monte Cassino; and anyone who prefers a different town every day to long stays in big cities.
Best time to go and visas
April to June and September to October are ideal for the lakes and Capri, which is busiest in July and August. The Borromean Islands close in winter. Indian passport holders need a Schengen visa, which our visa team can prepare. San Marino needs no separate visa. Start about two to three months before travel.
Good to know before you book
The tour starts in Milan and ends in Rome after breakfast on Day 8. Most travellers add two or three nights in Rome for the Vatican and the Colosseum, and our team can arrange them. Florence is not on this route. If you want it, see the 6-day tour below. Breakfast is included daily, and other meals are your own choice. International flights are booked separately (into Milan, out of Rome), and our team can book them from any Indian city. Prices start from €1,265 per person (₹1,39,200 at €1 = ₹110, October 2026) on twin sharing, excluding GST and TCS, and are recalculated for your exact travel dates.
