Three Christmas capitals, one cabin. This short river cruise sails the Danube from Vienna to Budapest and Bratislava and back to Vienna, in the weeks when these cities light up for Christmas. You unpack once, all meals are served on board from the welcome dinner to the last breakfast, and the ship moves between capitals while you sleep or dine. It suits couples, families and senior travellers who want Europe’s Christmas atmosphere without changing hotels or long coach days.
Vienna, Budapest and Bratislava. In Vienna, the imperial Ringstrasse and the Hofburg Palace set the scene for one of Europe’s best-known Christmas markets in front of the City Hall. Budapest splits into hilly Buda and lively Pest; don’t miss the view from Fisherman’s Bastion and the Danube embankment lit up at night. Little Bratislava has a walkable old town crowned by its hilltop castle — a perfect, easy half-day.
Choose your ship. The route and dates are the same; the ship and cabin class change. Standard (MS Fidelio): from €825 (about ₹90,800). Intermediate (MS Arena): from €870 (about ₹95,700). Superior (MS Arena): from €970 (about ₹1,06,700). All per person on twin sharing. The Standard ship sails on 4, 8, 12 and 16 December; the MS Arena sails on 30 November, 12 and 16 December 2026.
Why go now? Christmas cruises run on a handful of December dates only, and cabins on river ships are limited. Austria, Hungary and Slovakia are all Schengen countries, so one visa covers the whole cruise — our team arranges your Schengen visa with the booking. Apply early: December is peak season at the visa centres.
Good to know: embarkation is from 4 pm on Day 1 at the Vienna river port, and you disembark after breakfast on Day 5. Dinner on Day 1, full board on Days 2 to 4 (including the Captain’s Dinner) and breakfast on Day 5 are included. The guided city tours in Vienna, Budapest and Bratislava are optional and paid on board. Christmas markets usually run from late November to late December. Flights to and from Vienna are booked separately — our team can book them for you, from any Indian city — and we can add hotel nights in Vienna before or after the cruise. Arrive in Vienna and transfer to the river port (Nussdorf area). Embarkation starts at 4 pm; check in to your cabin and settle in. Welcome dinner on board. Dinner included. Overnight on board in Vienna.
After breakfast, join the optional guided tour of Vienna’s landmarks — the Opera House, City Hall, Parliament, Burgtheater and Hofburg Imperial Palace. After lunch on board, the afternoon is free for the Christmas markets before the ship sets sail for Budapest. Breakfast, lunch and dinner included. Overnight on board.
A day in Budapest. Join the optional guided tour of the Parliament, Opera House, Heroes’ Square, Great Market Hall, Chain Bridge and Fisherman’s Bastion, or explore at your own pace. The ship leaves for Bratislava at 6 pm. Breakfast, lunch and dinner included. Overnight on board.
Explore Bratislava, with an optional guided tour of the National Theatre, St Martin’s Cathedral, Michael’s Gate, the Old Town Hall and the castle on its rock. In the afternoon the ship sails back to Vienna, and the evening ends with the Captain’s Dinner. Breakfast, lunch and dinner included. Overnight on board.
After breakfast, disembark in Vienna. End of the cruise — continue to the airport, or stay on in Vienna with extra hotel nights we can arrange. Breakfast included.
