Three small countries, three UNESCO-listed old towns and a coastline of pine forests and sandy beaches — this 7 Days Baltic Tour Package takes you from medieval Tallinn through Riga to baroque Vilnius, with two nights in each capital so you are never rushed. It is planned and supported by IMAD Travel, an IATA-certified travel agency in Hyderabad serving travellers from across India since 2011. Prefer to travel on your own? Hotels with breakfast, two lunches, guided city tours of Tallinn, Riga and Vilnius, the coach with an English-speaking guide, the Salaspils Memorial visit and admissions at Turaida Castle, Rundale Palace and Trakai Castle are arranged before you leave.
Tallinn: a medieval town that never lost its walls
You arrive in Tallinn, capital of Estonia, and have the evening to settle in. The next morning’s panoramic tour shows why its old town is on the UNESCO list: almost two kilometres of medieval walls with red-roofed towers, Gothic churches, the merchants’ houses of the Town Hall Square and lanes that have hardly changed since the days of the Hanseatic League. The afternoon is free — climb Toompea hill for the classic view over the rooftops to the Baltic Sea, visit the medieval Town Hall Pharmacy, one of the oldest in Europe, or visit the creative Telliskivi district. Estonia is also one of the most digital countries in the world, so this is old Europe with fast Wi-Fi.
Pärnu, Turaida Castle and the Gauja valley
Day 3 runs through forests and plains to Pärnu, Estonia’s summer capital, a seaside resort of wooden villas and a long white beach. Crossing into Latvia, lunch is included before you visit Turaida Castle (admission included), a red-brick medieval fortress on a hill above the Gauja river, surrounded by a park of folk sculptures. Nearby Sigulda, the Switzerland of Latvia, sits among wooded valleys and caves — spectacular in autumn colours. Before reaching Riga, the coach stops at the Salaspils Memorial, one of the largest memorial complexes in Europe, built on the site of a former Nazi-era camp — a quiet, moving moment on the journey.
Riga: Art Nouveau capital of the Baltics
Riga is the largest city of the Baltic states and the liveliest of the three capitals. The included panoramic tour covers its medieval Old Town, the House of the Blackheads, St Peter’s Church and the cathedral, as well as streets lined with some of the most beautiful Art Nouveau buildings in Europe — a third of the centre is built in this ornate style. Traces of the Soviet era are still visible too, which makes Riga a fascinating mix. The afternoon is free for the Central Market, set in old Zeppelin hangars, or a walk along the Daugava river.
Rundale Palace and the island castle of Trakai
Leaving early for Lithuania, you visit Rundale Palace (admission included), a baroque masterpiece by Bartolomeo Rastrelli, the architect of the Winter Palace in St Petersburg, with gilded halls and formal French gardens. Lunch is included on the way. The route then crosses into Catholic Lithuania, the land of the famous Hill of Crosses, before the most photogenic stop of the tour: Trakai Castle (admission included), a red-brick fortress on an island in Lake Galvė, reached by a wooden footbridge. On some dates, depending on daylight, Trakai is visited the next day instead.
Vilnius: the city on seven hills
Vilnius is often compared to Rome for its hills and its churches. The panoramic tour takes you through one of the largest baroque old towns in Eastern Europe, with its cathedral, the Gate of Dawn, the old city walls, the castle on its hill and about 1,200 medieval houses. The afternoon is free to explore Užupis, the artists’ quarter that declared itself a republic, or to climb the Gediminas Tower at sunset.
Who this Baltic tour suits
This 7 days Baltic tour of Tallinn, Riga and Vilnius suits travellers who have seen Western Europe and want somewhere fresh and uncrowded; couples who love cobbled old towns and café life; families who prefer a relaxed pace with two nights in every city; and value seekers — the Baltics give you old-world Europe at a gentler price. It also pairs well with a Scandinavia or Finland holiday, since Tallinn is just across the sea from Helsinki.
Best time to go and visa
May to September is the best time, with long days — in June the sun barely sets — and pleasant temperatures for walking; spring and autumn are cooler but beautiful, while winter is cold and dark but magical with snow and Christmas markets. Departures are on Fridays. Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania are part of the Schengen area, so Indian passport holders need a Schengen visa — our visa team prepares the file, so start about two to three months before travel.
Good to know before you book
Breakfast is included every day, with lunches on Days 3 and 5; other meals are on your own, and all three capitals have vegetarian and Indian restaurants. The euro is used in all three countries. Carry a light jacket even in summer, as Baltic evenings can be cool, and comfortable shoes for the cobblestones. International flights into Tallinn and out of Vilnius are booked separately — our team can book them from any Indian city. Prices start from €832 per person (₹91,520 at €1 = ₹110, October 2026) on twin sharing, excluding GST and TCS, and are recalculated for your exact travel dates and season.
