Monasteries in the sky, the oracle of Delphi, the stadium of the first Olympic Games and the citadel of King Agamemnon — this 7 Days Greece Tour Package is a guided group tour that fits the great classical sites of mainland Greece into one week, with most site tickets included and a good-value price. It is planned and supported by IMAD Travel, an IATA-certified travel agency in Hyderabad serving travellers from across India since 2011. Prefer to travel on your own? Hotels with breakfast, two dinners, the guided Athens city tour, the coach with an English-speaking guide, and admissions at Meteora, Delphi, Hosios Loukas, Olympia, Mycenae and Acrocorinth are arranged before you leave.
Arrival in Athens
You arrive in Athens on a Monday, with a transfer to the hotel and the rest of the day free. It is worth an evening walk around Syntagma Square or up to a rooftop for your first view of the floodlit Acropolis — the tour leaves early the next morning.
Thermopylae, Kastraki and Meteora
Day 2 heads straight to the north. The coach stops at the seaside town of Kamena Vourla and at Thermopylae, the pass of Leonidas and the 300 Spartans, before lunch in Kastraki, a village sitting right under the giant rock pillars. In the afternoon you visit Meteora, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where Orthodox monks built monasteries on top of sheer sandstone towers; admission to one monastery is included, so you step inside the painted chapel and look out over the plain of Thessaly. Dress modestly — shoulders and knees covered. Dinner and the night are in Kalambaka.
Delphi and Hosios Loukas
Driving south, you reach Delphi, the sanctuary of Apollo on the slopes of Mount Parnassus, where kings and generals once came to consult the oracle. The ruins of the temple, the theatre and the treasuries look down over olive groves to the Gulf of Corinth (admission included). After lunch the coach stops at Hosios Loukas, a Byzantine monastery and World Heritage Site with shining 11th-century mosaics (admission included), and you return to Athens in the evening.
Athens: city tour, the Acropolis and Plaka
Day 4 belongs to Athens. A local guide takes you past the Presidential Mansion, the marble Panathenaic Stadium where the 1896 Olympics were held, the National Library and the squares of the centre, then out to the districts rebuilt for the 2004 Games. The tour ends at the Acropolis, home of the Parthenon (the ticket is paid on the spot). In the evening a transfer takes you to Plaka, the old quarter below the Acropolis, for dinner in its tavernas and a taste of Greek music and folklore.
Corinth Canal, Arcadia and Ancient Olympia
Crossing into the Peloponnese, the coach stops at the Corinth Canal, a narrow cut through 80-metre rock walls, then climbs through the mountains to Tripoli, the capital of Arcadia, for a break on Areos Square. The highlight of the day is Ancient Olympia, birthplace of the Olympic Games in 776 BC: with a local guide (tickets included) you see the Temple of Zeus, the stadium entered through its stone tunnel, the gymnasium and the training grounds. The night is in Patras, a lively port city with Greece’s largest cathedral and the old church of St Andrew. Dinner is included.
Nafpaktos, Mycenae and Acrocorinth
The last touring day crosses the Rio–Antirrio bridge, a spectacular cable-stayed bridge over the Gulf of Corinth, to Nafpaktos — the old Lepanto, where a famous sea battle took place in 1571 — with its Venetian fortress and small harbour. Along the gulf you reach Mycenae, the mighty citadel of the 18th century BC that the Greeks linked to King Agamemnon (admission included). The final visit is the fortress of Acrocorinth on its high rock, with the remains of a temple of Aphrodite at the top (admission included). After a last stop at the Corinth Canal you arrive in Athens in the evening.
Who this Greece tour suits
This 7 days Greece tour of Athens, Meteora, Delphi, Olympia and Mycenae suits first-time visitors to Greece who want the classical sites in one guided week; families with school-age children; senior travellers who like tickets and transport arranged; and Europe repeat travellers adding Greece to their list. For more time in the Peloponnese, with Poros island, Epidaurus and Nafplio, choose our 8 days Greece tour; for the islands, our 10 days tour adds Mykonos and Santorini.
Best time to go and visa
April to June and September to October are the best months for sightseeing — mild weather for the open-air sites and fewer crowds; July and August are hot at midday. Departures are on Mondays. Greece is part of the Schengen area, so Indian passport holders need a Schengen visa applied through the Greek consulate — our visa team prepares the file, so start about two to three months before travel.
Good to know before you book
Breakfast is included every day, with dinners in Kalambaka and Patras; other meals are on your own, and Athens has many vegetarian and Indian restaurants. The Acropolis ticket is paid locally. Day 2 starts early, so arrive in Athens on Day 1 with time to rest. The archaeological sites are open-air and uneven in places, so bring comfortable shoes, a hat and water. International flights into and out of Athens are booked separately — our team can book them from any Indian city. Prices start from €978 per person (₹1,07,580 at €1 = ₹110, October 2026) on twin sharing, excluding GST and TCS, and are recalculated for your exact travel dates and season.
