The lakes and glaciers of Switzerland and the boulevards of Paris, in one short, well-paced week. This 7 Days Paris Switzerland Tour Package is a guided group coach tour that starts in Zurich and ends in Paris, with three nights in each city and a stop in Strasbourg in between. It is planned and supported by IMAD Travel, an IATA-certified travel agency in Hyderabad serving travellers from across India since 2011. Prefer to travel on your own? Hotels, coach travel, an English-speaking tour guide, the city tours, a mountain lunch, the Lake Zurich cruise and the Eiffel Tower ticket are arranged before you leave, so a one-week holiday goes into sightseeing rather than queues and train timetables.
Zurich: the old town, Lake Zurich and Rapperswil
The tour begins in Zurich, Switzerland’s largest city. After an arrival transfer and a free first evening, a guided tour takes you through the old town on both banks of the Limmat river — the twin towers of the Grossmünster, the Fraumünster with its Chagall windows and the elegant Bahnhofstrasse. Then comes a cruise of nearly two hours on Lake Zurich, with short stops at lakeside villages, ending at Rapperswil, the town of roses with its medieval castle above the water. You return to Zurich by Swiss train, a comfortable first taste of the country’s famous rail network.
Grindelwald: glaciers, a suspension bridge and lunch on the mountain
This is the day most travellers remember longest. The coach heads into the Interlaken region to Grindelwald, the mountain village below the north face of the Eiger, for a coffee stop before a cable car rises into the high Alps. From the top, a walk leads to a mountain suspension bridge with glaciers and snow peaks all around — crossing it is optional, but the view alone is worth the walk. Lunch on the mountain is included, a rare treat on a group tour.
Lucerne, and the option of Mount Titlis
In the afternoon, the tour continues to Lucerne for free time by the lake: walk across the wooden Chapel Bridge, see the Lion Monument and browse the watch and chocolate shops of the old town before returning to Zurich. Travellers who want snow can choose the optional full-day excursion instead, with free time in Lucerne and the rotating cable car to the summit of Mount Titlis, at more than 3,000 metres — a favourite with Indian families.
Strasbourg: a stop in Alsace on the way to Paris
Leaving Switzerland, the route crosses into France and the region of Alsace. In Strasbourg, free time lets you see the towering Gothic cathedral and the half-timbered houses and canals of the Petite France quarter, where French and German traditions meet. The coach then continues to Paris, arriving in the evening for three nights in the French capital.
Versailles, Montmartre and a panoramic tour of Paris
The first full day in Paris starts at the Palace of Versailles, the royal residence of Louis XIV, with its formal gardens and fountains (palace admission is optional). Back in the city, the tour visits Montmartre, the artists’ hill crowned by the white domes of the Sacré-Cœur, and then a panoramic tour with a local guide past the Champs-Élysées, the Arc de Triomphe, the Opéra, Notre-Dame and the Louvre.
The Eiffel Tower and a cruise on the Seine
The last full day brings the Eiffel Tower, with a ticket to the second floor included, for the classic view across Paris and the Seine. This is followed by a Seine river cruise of about 1 hour 15 minutes, gliding under historic bridges past the Louvre and Notre-Dame. The afternoon is free for the Louvre, shopping at the Galeries Lafayette or a café on the Left Bank. The tour ends after breakfast the next morning.
Who this Switzerland and Paris tour suits
This 7 days Switzerland and Paris tour including Zurich, Grindelwald, Lucerne and the Eiffel Tower suits first-time Europe travellers with one week of leave; honeymoon couples; families with children; and working professionals who want the two most-requested European experiences — the Swiss Alps and Paris — without a long trip. With three nights in each city, there is only one hotel change, and a professional tour guide is with the group throughout.
Best time to go and visa
May to September is the best season for this route from India, with green Alpine meadows, open mountain lifts and long evenings in Paris; April and October are quieter and cooler. Departures are on Wednesdays. Switzerland and France are both covered by one Schengen visa; our visa team prepares the file for you, so start about three months before travel.
Good to know before you book
Breakfast is included every day, plus lunch on the mountain near Grindelwald; other meals are on your own, and both Zurich and Paris have plenty of Indian and vegetarian restaurants. An arrival transfer in Zurich is included, and the tour ends after breakfast in Paris. The Mount Titlis excursion and entry to the Palace of Versailles are optional extras. International flights into Zurich and home from Paris are booked separately — our team can book them from any Indian city. Prices start from €1,190 per person (about ₹1,30,900) on twin sharing, excluding GST and TCS, and are recalculated for your exact travel dates and season.
