Your 5-night, 6-day family trip to the Northeast begins when you arrive in Guwahati. You will be transferred to Kaziranga National Park, where you can marvel at nature’s wonders. Begin your Kaziranga tour with an early morning elephant safari. You’ll get to meet Mother Earth and see her in all of her glory. As part of your North East itinerary, you will also go on a Jeep safari in Kaziranga National Park. As part of your Guwahati Shillong tour, visit Umiam Lake, Nohkalikai Falls, Seven Sisters Falls, Mawsmai Cave, Arwah Cave, Shillong Peak, and other popular attractions. Kaziranga National Park is well-known for its rhino, elephant, and tiger populations. The opportunity to go on elephant and jeep safaris in Kaziranga is a major highlight of this trip. The waterfalls near Shillong are another highlight of this trip. Meghalaya, known for its natural beauty, is home to pristine lakes and thundering waterfalls that are worth visiting at any time of year.
Note –
In October, there will be no jungle activities in Kaziranga.
The Park is scheduled to open in November (exact opening dates will be decided by the Forest Department).
Upon arrival at Guwahati Airport/Railway Station, you will be transferred to Kaziranga National Park, home to the "One Horned Rhinoceros." Check into your hotel. The evening is free for relaxation. Stay overnight in Kaziranga.
Early morning elephant rides across any zone of Kaziranga National Park. Hog deer, swamp deer, wild buffalo, elephants, and tigers can also be found. If you're lucky, you might also see a tiger. Additionally, the park is home to pelicans, storks, and darters due to the presence of numerous water bodies. Breakfast will be served at the resort. Enjoy a jeep safari in the National Park in the afternoon. Return to your hotel room. Stay overnight in Kaziranga. Note: All elephant rides are regulated and overseen by the Assam Forest Department. We had no influence over the booking. Elephant rides and Jeep safaris are subject to availability.
After breakfast, make your way to Shillong (4,900 ft.), nicknamed the "Scotland of the East." En route, stop at Umium Lake, a magnificent placid lake surrounded by sylvan hills. Check into your hotel upon arrival in Shillong. The evening is free for recreation. Stay overnight in Shillong.
After an early breakfast, go to Cherrapunjee (4,400 ft.), the world's wettest spot. You'll come across the stunning Nohkalikai waterfall. Additionally, you can explore the Mawsmai caverns. Return to Shillong in the evening, stopping en route at Elephanta Falls and Shillong Peak for some beautiful views. Shillong is where you will spend the night.
After breakfast, make your way to the Don Bosco Museum and Ward's Lake. Following that, proceed to Guwahati. Arrive at the hotel and check in. In the evening, we recommend an optional excursion of the Brahmaputra's Golden Sunset Cruise (Direct Payment by yourself). Stay overnight in Guwahati.
Following breakfast, pay a visit to Kamakhya Temple (notes: timing is 08:00 A.M. till 01:00 P.M. and 3:00 P.M. till it gets dark). Transfer to Guwahati Airport/Railway Station in preparation for your next destination. Make sure you know that your time at the temple will depend on when you are leaving. It might be done the day before.

You can plan a trip to Kaziranga for four nights and five days like this: Day 1: After arriving in Kaziranga, go on a jeep safari. Day 2: Travel from Kaziranga to Shillong and participate in an elephant safari. Day 3: Visit Nohkalikai Falls, Seven Sisters Falls, Mawsmai Cave, and Arwah Cave in Cherrapunji. Day 4: Shillong Peak, Umiam Lake, and Elephant Falls are all on the itinerary. Day 5: Departure with a stop at the Kamakhya Temple
In Shillong, one can shop for souvenirs at the Bara bazaar and the Police bazaar. The government emporium is a must-see.
Before visiting the Kamakhya Temple, devotees are advised to dress modestly. It would be preferable if men and women dressed in traditional Indian attire.
