Tour's Location

1. When one should visit Finland?
It all depends on your ambitions. December to March is the greatest time to visit for plenty of snow and winter sports. April to May is the best time to enjoy the spring light and the return of nature after the winter. June, July, and August are the months to visit if you want long, hot summer days with lots of activities. Autumn foliage color is best seen between September and October.
2. When and where will I be able to see the Northern Lights?
Between August and April, the lights of northern Lapland can be seen on nearly every other clear night. They can be seen in southern Finland on 10-20 nights every year. Auroral activity typically peaks at the start and conclusion of each season.
3. Do they speak English in Finland?
If you speak English, you should have no problems, as the majority of Finns are competent (or at least understood) in the language.
4. When and where does the Midnight Sun appear?
In Lapland, as well. Between mid-May and late-July in Utsjoki, Finland's far north, the sun remains above the horizon for more than two months. In June-July, the sun stays up for a month in the southern areas of Lapland. For the most of the summer, though, the evenings are white across the country.
5. What about the weather? How cold does it get, and will it snow?
Temperatures can dip as low as –35 degrees Celsius during the winter months. Fortunately, this is not the norm: typical winter temperatures range from –5 to –15. In the summer, temperatures can reach 30 degrees Celsius, and even higher. The average summer temperature is little higher than 20 degrees. In northern and eastern Finland, snow is virtually always present in January and February.
