After an early breakfast, drive to Amritsar, colloquially referred to as Ambarsar. Amritsar is a spiritually significant city for Sikhs. The city is named after Guru Ram Das, the fourth Sikh guru, who founded the sacred pool in 1574. This holy pond encircles Harmandir Sahib, which is affectionately referred to as the Golden Temple by devotees. Proceed to the India-Pakistan border at Wagah following check-in at the hotel. Watch the "Beating the Retreat" ceremony, in which soldiers from both countries bring down their national flags in their own distinctive styles. After your return, pay a visit to the Golden Temple. You may visit Jalianwala Bagh and the Ranjit Museum if time permits. Stay overnight in Amritsar.
