Mountain towns of white Ottoman houses, a spring so blue it looks like a piece of sky, Greek and Roman ruins by the sea and a coastline still unknown to most travellers — this 6 Days Albania Tour Package is a small, guided journey through one of Europe’s best-kept secrets, from Tirana to Berat, Gjirokaster, the Blue Eye, Butrint and the Riviera at Vlora. It is planned and supported by IMAD Travel, an IATA-certified travel agency in Hyderabad serving travellers from across India since 2011. Prefer to travel on your own? Our team can also arrange this same route, or a similar one, as a custom package for your family or group, with your own dates, hotels and pace — just quote the tour code IMAD-EU-61551 when you contact us.

Hotels with breakfast, the coach with an English-speaking guide, a local-guided tour of Berat, coffee with a local family, and admissions at the Blue Eye, Butrint National Park and Apollonia are arranged before you leave, along with the meals and transfers described in the itinerary.
Tirana, Elbasan and the lakes of Belsh
The journey starts in Tirana, a capital that has painted its old communist blocks in bright colours and filled its centre with cafés, parks and the great Skanderbeg Square. The next morning the road follows history: Elbasan was a key stop on the Via Egnatia, the Roman highway that linked the Adriatic coast with Constantinople, and its old fortress walls still stand among the modern streets. Nearby Belsh, on the Dumre plateau, surprises everyone with more than 80 small natural lakes scattered across a quiet green countryside.
Berat: the city of a thousand windows
By afternoon you reach Berat, a UNESCO town whose white Ottoman houses climb the hillside one above the other, their rows of windows watching over the Osum river — hence its name, the city of a thousand windows. A local guide leads you through the old quarters, the churches with their icons and the lanes up to the castle, still lived in today. Then comes one of the tour’s warmest moments: you are welcomed into a local family’s home for Albanian coffee and homemade sweets, and the evening ends with a traditional dinner.
Osum Canyon and the stone city of Gjirokaster
Day 3 begins at the Osum Canyon, where the river has cut deep walls of rock and waterfalls through the hills; a light walk shows you the gorge from above, and those who want more adventure can go rafting (optional). The road then winds south to Gjirokaster, the ‘stone city’ and another UNESCO site, where silver-grey stone roofs, tower houses and a huge castle look down on the Drino valley. Dinner is included at the hotel.
The Blue Eye, Butrint and the road to Vlora
The next morning you visit the Blue Eye (admission included), a natural spring of incredibly clear, deep-blue water bubbling up from more than 50 metres below the ground, surrounded by forest. Further south, Butrint National Park (admission included) is one of the great archaeological sites of the Mediterranean: Greek, Roman, Byzantine and Venetian ruins on a peninsula among lagoons and wetlands, visited with a guide and on a gentle nature walk. On the way north you stop at the elegant Ottoman Brataj Bridge, then arrive in Vlora, where the Adriatic and Ionian seas meet, for a sunset walk along the promenade and dinner by the sea.
Apollonia, Durrës and Preza Fortress
The last touring day starts among the columns and olive trees of Apollonia (admission included), the ancient city where the young Augustus studied before he became Rome’s first emperor. Then comes Durrës, Albania’s main port and one of its oldest cities, with a large Roman amphitheatre in the middle of town and lunch with coastal flavours. A final stop at the hilltop Preza Fortress gives wide views over the countryside before you return to Tirana in the late afternoon.
Who this Albania tour suits
This 6 days Albania tour of Berat, Gjirokaster, the Blue Eye, Butrint and Vlora suits travellers who want an undiscovered destination before it becomes famous; history lovers interested in Greek, Roman and Ottoman heritage; nature lovers drawn to canyons, springs and clear seas; and couples and families who like small towns, local food and warm hospitality. It also combines well with Greece or Croatia, both just across the border.
Best time to go and visa
May, June and September are ideal — warm sunshine, swimmable seas and fewer crowds; July and August are hot and busy on the Riviera, while spring brings green hills and full rivers in the Osum Canyon. Departures are on Sundays. Albania is not part of the Schengen area and has its own entry rules; Indian passport holders with a valid multiple-entry Schengen, UK or US visa are usually allowed to enter without a separate visa. Our visa team checks the current rules for your dates and arranges any visa you need — start about two to three months before travel.
Good to know before you book
Breakfast is included every day, with dinners in Berat, Gjirokaster and Vlora and lunch in Durrës as described in the itinerary; vegetarian dishes such as byrek, stuffed peppers and fresh salads are easy to find. The Albanian lek is the local currency, though euros are widely accepted. Roads through the mountains are scenic but winding, so carry motion-sickness tablets if you need them, and wear comfortable shoes at Butrint and Apollonia. International flights into and out of Tirana are booked separately — our team can book them from any Indian city. Prices start from €1,536 per person (₹1,68,960 at €1 = ₹110, October 2026) on twin sharing, excluding GST and TCS, and are recalculated for your exact travel dates and season.
