Castles on misty hills, a boat on Loch Ness, whiskey from the oldest licensed distillery in the world and forty thousand basalt columns stepping into the Atlantic — this 10 Days Scotland Ireland Tour is a guided group round trip from London that covers England, Scotland, Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland and Wales in ten days. It is planned and supported by IMAD Travel, an IATA-certified travel agency in Hyderabad serving travellers from across India since 2011. Prefer to travel privately? Our team can also arrange this same route, or a similar one, as a custom package for your family or group, with your own dates and hotels — just quote the tour code IMAD-EU-12411 when you contact us.

Hotels with breakfast, the Edinburgh city tour, the Loch Ness boat, the ferries to Northern Ireland and to Wales, and entry to Urquhart Castle, the Giant’s Causeway, the Bushmills distillery with a tasting, Donegal Castle, the Marble Arch Caves, Hillsborough Castle and Monasterboice are arranged before you leave. Departures run every Thursday from London with a bilingual (English and Spanish) guide.

From London to the north: Cambridge, York and Durham

The coach leaves London on the first morning and heads north to Cambridge, where the colleges and King’s Chapel line the river Cam. After lunch you reach York, a city of Roman walls, the great Gothic Minster and crooked medieval streets like the Shambles. The night is in Durham, where a Norman cathedral and castle stand together on a hill above the river.

Alnwick and Edinburgh

On the way to Scotland you stop in Alnwick, whose medieval castle served as Hogwarts in the first Harry Potter films. You reach Edinburgh at midday for a panoramic tour with a local guide: the castle on its volcanic rock, the Royal Mile, the elegant Georgian New Town — the whole centre is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The Scottish Highlands and Loch Ness

Day 3 is the great Highland drive. After coffee in the village of Pitlochry you continue to Inverness and the ruins of Urquhart Castle (ticket included) on the shore of Loch Ness, then take a boat out on its dark, legendary waters. The road passes Fort Augustus with its canal locks and Fort William below Ben Nevis, the highest mountain in Britain, crosses the high moors and follows the banks of Loch Lomond to Glasgow. In winter (mid-November to February) the shorter days bring a different route: a whisky distillery in Pitlochry, Stirling Castle and the giant Kelpies horse-head sculptures.

Belfast, the Antrim Coast and the Giant’s Causeway

A ferry from Cairnryan carries you to Northern Ireland and Belfast, a city that has reinvented itself since the 1998 peace agreement — the free afternoon is perfect for the Titanic Belfast museum, built where the famous liner was constructed. The next day follows the Antrim coast through the conservation village of Cushendun to Ballycastle, then to Bushmills, the world’s oldest licensed whiskey distillery, for a guided tour and tasting. The highlight is the Giant’s Causeway (entry included), where some 40,000 hexagonal basalt columns, formed about 60 million years ago, run into the sea — legend says an Irish giant built it to reach his Scottish rival. The night is in walled Derry.

Donegal, the Marble Arch Caves and Hillsborough Castle

Crossing into the Republic of Ireland, you visit lively Donegal and its medieval castle (entry included), then return to Northern Ireland for the Marble Arch Caves (entry included), a 330-million-year-old cave system of underground rivers and limestone halls. On Day 7 you tour Hillsborough Castle (entry included), the royal residence in Northern Ireland, with its Georgian rooms and gardens, then stop at Monasterboice, a 5th-century monastic site famous for Muiredach’s High Cross, one of the finest Celtic crosses in Ireland.

Dublin, Wales and the road back to London

You spend two nights in Dublin. A panoramic tour follows the river Liffey past its parks, the historic Trinity College and the Georgian squares, and the afternoon is free for Temple Bar, Grafton Street or the Guinness Storehouse. An early ferry then crosses the Irish Sea to Wales and Caernarfon, a seaside town dominated by its UNESCO castle, before a short city drive in Liverpool, the city of the Beatles. The last day passes Stratford-upon-Avon, Shakespeare’s birthplace, and the university city of Oxford, arriving in London in the evening.

Who this Scotland and Ireland tour suits

This 10 days Scotland, Ireland and England tour suits travellers who have already seen Paris and Switzerland and want something different; families and couples who love castles, coastlines and green landscapes; Harry Potter and Game of Thrones fans; and anyone who wants the UK and Ireland in one trip without driving on the left themselves.

Best time to go and visas

May to September brings the longest days and the full Highland route; spring and early autumn are quieter, and from mid-November to February the Highlands day changes to the winter route. Indian passport holders need a UK visa and an Irish visa (Donegal and Dublin are in the Republic of Ireland), or a UK visa issued under the British-Irish Visa Scheme where eligible. Our visa team advises which suits your trip — start about three months before travel.

Good to know before you book

The tour leaves London on the morning of Day 1 and returns on the evening of Day 10, so plan to arrive in London a day early and book your flight home for the next day — our team can add the London nights and transfers. Breakfast is included daily; lunches are on your own, and the guide points out places to eat. Pack a waterproof jacket and layers: the weather in Scotland and Ireland changes quickly. International flights are booked separately — our team can book them from any Indian city. Prices start from €2,127 per person (₹2,33,970 at €1 = ₹110, October 2026) on twin sharing, excluding GST and TCS, and are recalculated for your exact travel dates.
