Umrah Season Calendar 1448 H 2026–27

Umrah Season Calendar 1448 H (2026–2027): The Official Dates Pilgrims Need

The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has published the official Umrah season calendar for 1448 H (2026–2027), and the season is already open. Umrah visa issuance and pilgrim entry into the Kingdom began on 31 May 2026, with Makkah entry and Umrah permits through the Nusuk app available from 1 June 2026. If you are planning Umrah from Hyderabad, Mumbai or anywhere in India this year, these are the dates that govern your trip — and a few of them close earlier than most pilgrims expect.

This is a short, factual summary of what the Ministry has confirmed. We have left out the unconfirmed talk circulating about further rule changes — more on why below.

The official 1448 H Umrah calendar at a glance

The 1448 H season runs from late May 2026 to early April 2027. These five dates, taken directly from the Ministry’s announcement, are the ones that affect when you can apply, travel, and return:

MilestoneHijri dateGregorian date
Umrah visa issuance & pilgrim entry begins14 Dhul-Hijjah 144731 May 2026
Makkah entry & Umrah permits via Nusuk begin15 Dhul-Hijjah 14471 June 2026
Last date for Umrah visa issuance1 Shawwal 14489 March 2027
Last date for pilgrim entry into the Kingdom15 Shawwal 144823 March 2027
Last date for pilgrim departure30 Shawwal 14487 April 2027

The Ministry has urged Umrah companies and external agents to stick strictly to these dates so the system can welcome pilgrims smoothly through the season.

What these dates actually mean for an Indian pilgrim

The single most important thing to notice is that the visa issuance window closes well before the season ends. You cannot get an Umrah visa issued after 9 March 2027, even though pilgrims already inside the Kingdom may remain until early April. So the real planning deadline for anyone applying from India is the visa cut-off, not the departure cut-off.

This matters most for Ramadan. Ramadan 1448 falls in roughly February to early March 2027, ending with Eid al-Fitr on 1 Shawwal — which is the same 9 March 2027 date the visa window closes. Ramadan is the busiest, most sought-after time for Umrah, hotel availability near the Haram is tightest then, and it sits right at the edge of the issuance deadline. If a Ramadan Umrah is your plan, this is a season to book early rather than late.

For everyone else, the season is open right now. From June 2026 onward you can perform Umrah throughout the year up to the cut-offs above.

What we are NOT publishing yet (and why)

You may have seen chatter about further changes to Umrah visa rules for this season. We are deliberately holding off on any of that. The Ministry has officially confirmed the season calendar — the dates above — and nothing more that we are willing to state as fact. Visa validity periods and procedural rules have been adjusted in recent seasons, so always confirm the current visa validity at the time you apply rather than relying on last year’s number.

We will update this page the moment the Ministry confirms anything further. If you want the rules as they stood for the previous season for reference, see our note on last season’s 1447 H rules. Telling you what we don’t yet know is part of how we work — we would rather you plan on confirmed facts than on rumour.

How this affects booking Umrah from Hyderabad and Mumbai

Because the issuance window closes 9 March 2027, the practical advice for pilgrims from India is to lock departures earlier in the season where you can, especially for Ramadan and the school-holiday months. We are licensed by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah (KSA), and our Umrah team has processed pilgrimages from Hyderabad and Mumbai for over a decade — flights, visa, hotels within walking distance of the Haram, and Hyderabadi meals.

If you already have your own flights and hotels and only need the visa, our Umrah visa online service handles that as a standalone. If you want the full package, our Umrah desk will build it around your dates.
