Three countries and some of the most beautiful lakes, rivers and old towns of the Balkans fit into this 9 Days Croatia Bosnia and Slovenia Tour — a guided coach circuit that starts and ends in Zagreb, runs through the heart of Bosnia to Sarajevo and Mostar, along the Dalmatian coast to Dubrovnik and Split, and finishes among the waterfalls of Plitvice, the caves of Postojna and the island church of Lake Bled. It is planned and supported by IMAD Travel, an IATA-certified travel agency in Hyderabad serving travellers from across India since 2011. Prefer to travel at your own pace? Our team can also arrange this same route, or a similar one, as a custom package for your family or group, with your own dates and hotels — just quote the tour code IMAD-EU-61669 when you contact us.

Hotels with buffet breakfast, the arrival transfer, seven dinners, the coach with an English-speaking guide, guided tours of Zagreb, Sarajevo, Dubrovnik, Split and Ljubljana, boats to Lokrum and Bled island, and tickets to the Jajce waterfall, the Franciscan Monastery and Cathedral in Dubrovnik, Diocletian’s Palace, Plitvice Lakes and Postojna Cave are arranged before you leave.
Zagreb and the road into Bosnia
Your tour starts in Zagreb, the relaxed capital of Croatia, with an afternoon tour of its two historic hills — the cathedral, the cobbled upper town and the colourful roof of St Mark’s Church — followed by dinner with the group. Early the next morning you cross into Bosnia and Herzegovina, a land still marked by the 1990s, and stop in Banja Luka, the country’s second city, for its fortress and Orthodox cathedral. The afternoon brings Jajce, perhaps the loveliest small town in Bosnia, where a waterfall tumbles into the river right below the old fortress (entry included), and you reach Sarajevo in time to walk the Baščaršija bazaar before dinner.
Sarajevo and Mostar
A morning guided tour explains why Sarajevo is called the Jerusalem of Europe: mosques, Orthodox and Catholic churches and a synagogue stand within a few minutes’ walk of each other around the old Ottoman centre. The road south follows the green Neretva valley to Mostar and its famous Old Bridge, rebuilt stone by stone after the war, where you have free time for lunch. By evening you have crossed into Croatia and reached Dubrovnik, with dinner included.
Dubrovnik, Ston and Split
A local guide shows you Dubrovnik, the Pearl of the Adriatic, from a viewpoint above the walls and then inside them, with tickets to the Franciscan Monastery (home to Europe’s oldest working pharmacy) and the Cathedral. A 15-minute boat ride takes you to Lokrum island and its old Benedictine monastery (April to October), and the rest of the day is yours, with dinner included again. Heading north, you pass the long medieval walls of Ston, cross the Pelješac Bridge over the sea and reach Split by midday, where a guide leads you through the courtyards and lanes of Diocletian’s Palace, a Roman emperor’s home that is still the living heart of the city.
Plitvice Lakes and Opatija
Turning inland through green hills, you arrive at Plitvice Lakes National Park, a UNESCO site of sixteen turquoise lakes joined by waterfalls and wooden walkways. Your ticket includes a boat or panoramic train ride (in bad weather or very busy periods it may not run). After lunch the road returns to the coast and Opatija, a graceful resort of villas and seafront promenades where Austro-Hungarian nobility once spent their winters, with dinner included.
Slovenia: Postojna, Lake Bled and Ljubljana
Slovenia is small but full of wonders. At Postojna Cave, one of the largest cave systems in the world, an underground train carries you deep into halls of stalactites. At Lake Bled, a traditional boat takes you across to the tiny island with its church bell tower, below a medieval castle on its cliff — the view that has made Bled famous. The day ends in Ljubljana, the friendly green capital, with a guided walk along its river and bridges and dinner included. On the last day you visit Maribor, Slovenia’s second city with its cathedral and castle, before returning to Zagreb around 3 pm.
Who this tour suits
This 9 days Croatia tour including Sarajevo, Mostar, Dubrovnik, Plitvice and Lake Bled suits travellers who want the highlights of three countries in a round trip from Zagreb; nature lovers who come for lakes, waterfalls and caves as much as for old towns; and families, couples and friends who like a guided coach tour with seven dinners and the main tickets included. Border crossings into and out of Bosnia can take time, so it is best for relaxed travellers who enjoy the journey.
Best time to go and visa
May, June and September are ideal — green landscapes at Plitvice, warm days on the coast and fewer crowds than in July and August. The Lokrum boat does not run from November to March, and in winter the Ljubljana tour may move to the last morning. Departures are on Wednesdays. Croatia and Slovenia are in the Schengen area, so Indian passport holders need a Schengen visa; Bosnia and Herzegovina has its own entry rules, which are usually easier for travellers holding a valid multiple-entry Schengen visa. Our visa team prepares the Schengen file and checks the Bosnia rules for your dates — start about two to three months before travel.
Good to know before you book
Breakfast is included every day, plus seven dinners in Zagreb, Sarajevo, Dubrovnik (two), Split, Opatija and Ljubljana; lunches are on your own. Comfortable shoes help at Plitvice and Postojna, and a light jacket is useful in the cave even in summer. International flights into and out of Zagreb are booked separately — our team can book them from any Indian city. Prices start from €1,455 per person (₹1,60,100 at €1 = ₹110, October 2026) on twin sharing, excluding GST and TCS, and are recalculated for your exact travel dates and season.
