Rovaniemi (2N) – Levi (2N)
Lapland’s winter highlights in just five days. Two nights in Rovaniemi, the official hometown of Santa Claus, and two nights in a glass cabin in Levi, Finland’s best-known ski resort. It suits families with children, honeymooners and first-time Lapland visitors who want Santa Claus Village, a snow hotel, ice fishing and the Northern Lights without a long trip, with private airport transfers on both ends.
Rovaniemi is where the magic starts. Cross the Arctic Circle line, meet Santa in his village and send a postcard from his post office. In the evening, step inside a snow hotel carved from snow and ice and have dinner in its ice restaurant. Don’t miss the glass cabin nights in Levi: on a clear night you can watch for the aurora without leaving your bed.
Then Levi. A scenic bus takes you north to Levi for a guided ice fishing tour on a frozen lake and a 3-hour Northern Lights tour by vehicle, driving away from the resort lights to find clear skies.
Why go now? This tour runs from December to March. Glass cabins have very few units, so Christmas, New Year and February dates fill months ahead. Good to know: Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon and no one can guarantee them. The activities are scheduled small-group tours, and the Rovaniemi – Levi journey is by public bus.
