India is not one holiday — it is a lake in Kashmir, a backwater in Kerala, a desert fort in Rajasthan, a tea garden below Kanchenjunga, and a road over Khardung La at eighteen thousand feet. There is a version of it for couples, for families with small children, for teenagers who need something to do, for grandparents who cannot climb, and for wildlife travellers chasing tigers in parks that close half the year. The hard part is never where to go. It is which India suits the days you have and the month you can take them in — and after fifteen years of sending Indian families around their own country, that is the part we are genuinely useful for. We book the hotels, run the transport, and put a person on the phone who has been there.

Yes — and the honest answer is that we do not publish a price for them, because a 5-star rate in Goa in December is not a 5-star rate in Goa in August, and quoting you last season’s number would be worse than quoting you nothing.
The prices on this page are our entry level. Above them sits the work IMAD Travel is actually known for: five-star hotels in Goa, luxury resorts and Dal Lake houseboats in Kashmir, private pool villas in the Andamans, palace hotels in Udaipur and Jaipur, and the tiger lodges that make a wildlife trip worth taking. Same destinations. A completely different trip inside them.
That gap is wider in India than almost anywhere. The same week in Kashmir can be booked at our entry price or at several times it — same lake, same valley, same month — and the difference is entirely the hotel, the vehicle, the guide and who is waiting at the airport. A large share of our domestic clients book at the upper end, on exactly the destinations listed on this page.
A luxury family trip is not the standard itinerary in a better hotel. It is a trip rebuilt around the fact that families do not travel well in a group of strangers.
Multi-generational groups are the most common luxury booking we take in India — usually eight to fourteen people, three generations, one destination, ten days.
We think IMAD is the best option for a luxury honeymoon inside India, and the reason is not the hotel list — it is that we will tell you which month ruins which destination before you book it.
We also arrange the parts most agencies leave to you: a photographer for a day, a private dinner, a room done for arrival, and a flight pair that does not have you landing at 3 a.m. on the first morning of your marriage.
Four things, and all four change through the year:
So we quote luxury rather than list it. Tell Priyanka the destination, the month and the standard of hotel you want, and she comes back with a real number for those dates and those properties — not an indicative band that changes when you try to book it. If you want to see the difference before you commit, ask for the same itinerary at two hotel categories and compare them side by side. We will send both.
On cruises: India’s cruise demand is its own subject — Mumbai to Goa, Kochi and Goa to Lakshadweep, and the Andaman sailings — and we keep it on a page of its own rather than summarising it badly here. See our cruise packages for the ships, routes and current fares, including the luxury cabins.
Yes — our Leh Ladakh tour package runs 8 days from INR 41,599 per person, and it is the one domestic trip where when you go matters more than what you pay.
Leh sits above 3,500 metres, so the first day of any honest Leh Ladakh itinerary is spent doing almost nothing while you acclimatise. Any operator selling you a packed day one is selling you a headache. The road routes in — the Srinagar–Leh and Manali–Leh highways — are seasonal, and the opening dates are set fresh every year rather than fixed on a calendar. Current season dates are on our Leh Ladakh tour packages page. Flights to Leh run year-round.
What a Leh Ladakh trip package is actually built around: Pangong Tso, Nubra Valley over Khardung La, the monasteries at Thiksey and Hemis, and the Indus valley around Leh itself. Most of the driving is the point rather than the cost of getting somewhere.
We do run Leh Ladakh bike trips, and we are not selling one today because the riding season has closed. It is a different trip from a vehicle itinerary — different permits, different fitness, different risk — and it returns when the passes do. Ask now and we will hold your dates for the next season rather than talk you into the wrong trip this one.
Planning an India trip? WhatsApp +91 63003 03169 and ask for Priyanka. Send your travel dates, the number of adults and children with ages, and the regions you are considering. She sends back a costed India itinerary, usually the same working day, with no obligation to book it.
North India tour packages cover four separate trips that people often try to combine and should not: the Golden Triangle (Delhi, Agra, Jaipur), the Himachal hills (Shimla, Manali, Dharamshala), Kashmir, and Uttarakhand. Each is a week in its own right.
We would not recommend trying to cover Himachal and Kashmir in one week. They look adjacent and the road between them is not. Pick one, or take two weeks — a North India holiday package that spends four days driving is not a holiday.
Yes — North East India tour packages start at INR 25,299 per person for 6 days in Darjeeling and Gangtok, and INR 33,499 for 7 days in Meghalaya. It is the least-visited part of India we sell and the one travellers come back most surprised by.
Darjeeling and Gangtok — tea gardens, the toy train, Kanchenjunga at dawn, and Sikkim’s monasteries. The easiest North East trip to take first.
Meghalaya — living root bridges, the wettest inhabited places on earth, and caves. A different landscape from anywhere else in India, and it needs the 7 days rather than a long weekend.
An honest gap, stated rather than padded: we do not yet publish a location page for Meghalaya or Sikkim, so the detail below is thinner than for Kashmir or Kerala. The packages are real and bookable; the guides are being written. Ask Priyanka and she will send the full day-by-day.
South India tour packages are built around Kerala, from INR 15,299 per person for 5 days — the cheapest entry point into any India tour package we sell, and the one that suits a first domestic trip best.
Kerala is the backwaters at Alleppey, the tea hills at Munnar, the coast at Varkala and Kovalam, and wildlife at Periyar. Our Munnar-led Kerala itinerary runs from INR 19,299.
South India’s season is the reverse of the north’s: September to March, when the north is cold and the south is dry and pleasant. If your leave falls in the Indian winter, this is where to spend it.
The most-searched places to visit in south India are Kerala’s backwaters and hill stations, Ooty and the Nilgiris, Coorg, and Mysore. Kerala is the only one of those we currently sell as a fixed package; the rest are custom.
Ooty is the most-searched hill station in the south and we do not yet sell it as a package. Stated plainly because it is the honest position: there is more demand for places to visit in Ooty than for almost any destination on this page, and we build it as a custom South India itinerary rather than a fixed departure. If an Ooty tour package is what you want, ask and we will price it.
Mysore, Coorg, Pondicherry and Hampi are built the same way — custom South India itineraries. Tell us the days and the interest.
Yes, and the honest answer is that the right India honeymoon depends almost entirely on the month you marry. Every India tour package is priced per person, so a couple books two adult prices and we add the honeymoon arrangements on request rather than selling a separate couple package at a markup. Our honeymoon packages page carries the international side — Maldives, Bali, Europe and the Northern Lights — if you are weighing India against going abroad.
This is also where most of our luxury work sits. A private pool villa on Havelock, a premium houseboat on the Kerala backwaters, a luxury houseboat or lake-view suite on Dal Lake, or a palace hotel in Udaipur is a different honeymoon from the entry price above — and it is the one couples most often come to us for. Those are quoted for your dates and your month rather than listed, for the reasons set out further up this page.
An India family tour package is shaped by two things the brochure never mentions: how much of the day is spent in a vehicle, and whether there is somewhere for children between the sights.
Children are priced on three tiers on every India tour package: adult, child with an extra bed, and child without one. That is not a discount structure invented to look generous — Indian hotels vary a great deal in whether a room can physically take an extra bed, and the ones that can cost more. It is the single biggest reason two families of four get different quotes for the same India holiday package. Send the ages with your dates and we will quote exactly rather than approximately.
Jim Corbett and Periyar are inside packages we already sell — Corbett in the 5-day Nainital and Jim Corbett Uttarakhand package from INR 22,999, Periyar in our Kerala itineraries from INR 15,299. Every other park below we build as a custom wildlife itinerary, and the reason is the lodge.
A wildlife trip is not really a package. It is one property, booked early, in one zone, for the right three days — a lodge inside the buffer is a different holiday from a hotel out on the main road, and the gap between them is the whole trip. So we quote the property first and build the rest around it, rather than selling you a tour that happens to pass a forest.
| Indian national park | Known for | Best season | Core zones usually closed |
|---|---|---|---|
| Jim Corbett, Uttarakhand | Tigers, the Ramganga valley | November – June | Dhikala zone in monsoon |
| Ranthambore, Rajasthan | The most reliable tiger sightings in India | October – June | July – September |
| Bandhavgarh, Madhya Pradesh | The highest tiger density anywhere | October – June | July – September |
| Kanha, Madhya Pradesh | Sal forest, barasingha | October – June | July – September |
| Kaziranga, Assam | The one-horned rhino | November – April | May – October |
| Gir, Gujarat | The only wild Asiatic lions on earth | October – June | June – October |
| Periyar, Kerala | Elephants and boat safaris, open all year | October – March | — |
| Keoladeo, Bharatpur | Migratory birds | October – March | — |
Two things worth knowing before you book anything. The hot months — April to June — are uncomfortable and give you by far the best sightings, because the animals come to water; comfort and sightings pull in opposite directions in Indian parks, and anyone who tells you otherwise is selling you November. And most core zones close from around 1 July to 30 September, with the exact dates set by each forest department fresh every year rather than fixed on a calendar. Ask us for this season’s dates before you book flights.
Take 5 days for one region, 7 for a region plus a second base, and 10 if you want two regions or are travelling with parents and young children who need rest days built in.
5 days — Kerala, Andaman or Rajasthan. One region, short transfers, no wasted travel days. 6 to 7 days — Darjeeling and Gangtok, Shimla and Manali, or Uttarakhand. A region plus a second base. 8 days — Leh Ladakh, which needs the first day for altitude and cannot honestly be done in less. 10 days or more — two regions, or one region unhurried. This is what multi-generational groups book.
Every India tour package on this page is a land package — it starts and ends at the nearest airport or railway station, so the trip and its price are identical whether you travel from Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Pune or Hyderabad.
You can add flights or train tickets to any India holiday package and we will quote them, or book your own and take the land portion only. Neither changes the price of the rest of the trip. A single service on its own is a normal booking here, not a lesser one.
Travelling from Hyderabad to Uttarakhand? We keep a separate page for Uttarakhand tour packages from Hyderabad, with the flight and train options from the city.
Send Priyanka four things and she returns a costed India itinerary, usually the same working day: your travel dates, the number of adults and children with ages, the regions you are considering, and whether you want travel added or the land package only.
The India itinerary is free and there is no obligation to book it. If you are torn between two regions, say so — deciding which suits your month is the part we are actually useful for.
The best places to visit in India divide into eight regions — Kashmir, Kerala, Leh Ladakh, Rajasthan, Andaman, Himachal, Uttarakhand and the North East — and the useful question is not which is best but which is best for the month you can travel. Each has its own page with the detail this one cannot hold.
The sections below are ordered the way people actually search: places to visit in Kerala and places to visit in Jaipur are among the most-searched destination questions in the country, and both are a week’s holiday rather than a day out.
Srinagar’s Dal Lake and its houseboats, Gulmarg’s meadows and gondola, Pahalgam and the Betaab valley. Best in spring and again after the monsoon. From INR 19,599. → Kashmir tour packages
The Alleppey backwaters, the tea hills at Munnar, Periyar’s wildlife, and the coast at Varkala. The cheapest entry into an India tour package and the easiest first domestic trip. From INR 15,299. → Kerala tour packages
Pangong Tso, Nubra over Khardung La, and the Indus-valley monasteries. Roads open roughly May to September; flights run year-round. From INR 41,599. → Leh Ladakh tour packages
Jaipur, Udaipur, Jodhpur and Jaisalmer — forts, lakes and desert, and the one North India region that is at its best in winter. From INR 21,999. → Rajasthan tour packages
Havelock and Neil, Radhanagar beach, and the clearest water in India. Four days is enough; seven is better. From INR 16,100. → Andaman tour packages
Shimla, Manali, Kullu, Dalhousie and Dharamshala, with Amritsar’s Golden Temple on the way in. Snow from around January, and the busiest hills in the country in May and June. From INR 21,599. → Himachal tour packages
Nainital, Jim Corbett, Mussoorie, Rishikesh, Auli and the Char Dham temples. From INR 22,999. → Uttarakhand tour packages
Tea gardens, Kanchenjunga at dawn, Sikkim’s monasteries, and Meghalaya’s root bridges and caves. From INR 25,299. → Darjeeling & Gangtok tour packages
Doddabetta, the botanical gardens, the Nilgiri toy train and the tea estates around Coonoor. The most-searched hill station in south India — and, honestly, one we do not yet sell as a package. Ooty is a custom South India itinerary with us. Coorg and Mysore pair with it naturally.
Jaipur’s Amber Fort, Hawa Mahal and City Palace; Udaipur’s Lake Pichola; Jodhpur’s blue old town; Jaisalmer’s desert fort. Winter is the season — the same months that are cold in the north are perfect here. From INR 21,999. → Rajasthan tour packages
We do not publish a Goa tour package, and that is a decision rather than an oversight. Most Goa demand is group and friends’ party-holiday travel on a do-it-yourself budget, and that is not the trip we are built to run well. We do price Goa as a custom itinerary when a client asks, usually through a referral, and we would rather say that plainly than sell you a package our hearts are not in.
The short version: go north between March and June, south and west between October and March, and Ladakh or the North East between June and September. India has no single best time; it has a best region per month.
| Month | Where to go | Why |
|---|---|---|
| May and June | Himachal · Uttarakhand · Kashmir · Ooty | Peak hill season — the two most-searched months of the year. Book months ahead and expect crowds |
| December | Rajasthan · Kerala · Andaman · Goa | The second-most-searched month. The south and west at their best; the north cold but beautiful |
| January – February | Rajasthan · Kerala · Andaman | Dry and warm in the south and west; Himachal and Auli have snow |
| March – April | Kashmir · Himachal · Uttarakhand | The hills open, the plains are not yet unbearable |
| July – August | Leh Ladakh · Meghalaya · Munnar | The monsoon shuts much of India and makes these three spectacular |
| September – October | Everywhere | Post-monsoon: the clearest air of the year and the smallest crowds |
September and October are the most under-booked good months in India, and if your leave is flexible that is where to spend it. The air is washed, the country is green rather than dusty, and the May–June crowds have gone home.
The two busiest search months are May–June and December, and they pull in opposite directions: May and June send everyone to the hills, December sends everyone to the coast and the desert. If you are trying to decide between the best places to visit in India in June and the best places to visit in India in December, you are really choosing between a hill station and a beach — and both are fully booked if you leave it late.
India tour packages cost from INR 15,299 per person for 5 days in Kerala, INR 16,100 for 4 days in Andaman, INR 19,599 for Kashmir and INR 41,599 for 8 days in Leh Ladakh. All are land packages, priced per person.
Kerala, at INR 15,299 per person for 5 days and 4 nights. Andaman is next at INR 16,100 for 4 days.
Yes — 8 days from INR 41,599 per person. Day one is spent acclimatising, which is not optional above 3,500 metres. Flights to Leh run year-round; the road routes are seasonal and their dates are set fresh each year, so check the Leh Ladakh page for the current season.
Yes, in season. There is no bike trip on sale today because the riding season has closed — it returns when the passes reopen. Ask now and we will hold your dates for the next one.
Yes. Darjeeling and Gangtok from INR 25,299 for 6 days, Meghalaya from INR 33,499 for 7 days.
There is no single best time — there is a best region per month. North between March and June, south and west between October and March, Ladakh and the North East between June and September. September and October are the best all-India months.
They can, either way. Every package is quoted as a land package first; add flights or train tickets and we will price them, or book your own and take the land portion only.
Ranthambore and Bandhavgarh, in April, May or June. It is the hottest and least comfortable time to go and it is when the animals come to water — comfort and sightings pull in opposite directions in Indian parks.
No. Most core zones close roughly July to September for the monsoon, and Kaziranga closes longer. Periyar in Kerala and Keoladeo at Bharatpur stay open. Dates are set annually by each forest department, so confirm before you book travel.
Yes, and on a wildlife trip we start there. Which lodge you are in, and which zone it opens into, decides the trip more than the itinerary does. Tell us the park and the dates and we will quote the property first.
Yes, on every route — 5-star hotels, luxury resorts, heritage palaces, private pool villas and premium private houseboats. We quote luxury rather than list it, because 5-star and resort rates move month to month and a published number would be out of date before you booked it. Tell us the destination, the month and the hotel standard and we price your actual dates.
Because they would be wrong. A five-star rate in Goa in December is not the same rate in August, and the same is true in Kashmir, the Andamans and Rajasthan. The prices on this page are our entry tier; anything above it is quoted for your dates. Ask for one itinerary at two hotel categories and we will send both so you can compare.
Yes — it is a large part of what we do. A private pool villa on Havelock, a premium houseboat on the Kerala backwaters, a luxury houseboat on Dal Lake, a palace hotel in Udaipur. We also arrange the photographer, the private dinner and the room done for arrival. Priced for your month rather than listed.
Always. Every houseboat we book on the Kerala backwaters or Dal Lake is private to your family — we do not sell cabins on shared boats at any price tier, and one night on the backwaters is already included in our entry Kerala package. The luxury tier changes the class of boat, the crew and the cooking, and whether you stay one night or two.
Yes, and a luxury family trip is not the standard itinerary in a better hotel — it is a private vehicle with one driver throughout, connecting rooms or a two-bedroom villa, a better class of houseboat for two nights instead of one, a private guide who moves at your children’s pace, and a slower itinerary when grandparents are travelling. Multi-generational groups of eight to fourteen are the most common luxury booking we take in India.
Yes, and they have their own page rather than a paragraph here — Mumbai to Goa, Kochi and Goa to Lakshadweep, and the Andaman sailings, including luxury cabins.
Kerala or Andaman — short transfers, water, and no altitude. Avoid Leh Ladakh with small children; the altitude is real.
It depends on the month you marry. Kerala or Andaman for a November-to-February wedding, Kashmir or Himachal for March to May, Leh Ladakh or Meghalaya for June to September.
Not comfortably in a week. They look adjacent and the road between them is not. Take one properly or allow two weeks.
Five for one region, seven for a region plus a second base, eight for Leh Ladakh, and ten or more for two regions or an unhurried single one.
Not as a published package, by choice. Most Goa demand is budget party-holiday travel for friends’ groups, which is not what we do well. We price Goa as a custom itinerary on request.
Yes, on three tiers: adult, child with an extra bed, and child without one. Indian hotels differ in whether a room can take an extra bed, and the rooms that can cost more — so the child rate genuinely depends on the hotel, not on a fixed percentage. On our international packages the structure is different: a child pays the adult rate and an infant travels free, because extra-bed capacity is rarely the constraint abroad.
Per person, on double occupancy, as a land package. Solo and triple-sharing are quoted separately — ask and we will price your exact party rather than quote you a couple’s rate you cannot use.
Kashmir, Kerala, Leh Ladakh, Rajasthan, Andaman, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and the North East. Which is best depends entirely on your month — the best places to visit in India in May are not the best places to visit in India in December.
The hills: Himachal, Uttarakhand, Kashmir and Ooty. These are the two most-searched travel months in India, so book months ahead.
Rajasthan, Kerala, Andaman and Goa. The south and west are at their best while the north is cold.
Not as a fixed departure. Ooty is one of the most-searched hill stations in India and we build it as a custom South India itinerary, usually paired with Coorg or Mysore. Ask and we will price it.
May and June, then December. If your dates are flexible, September and October give you the same places with a fraction of the crowds and the clearest air of the year.
Planning a trip in India? Send us your travel dates, the number of adults and children with ages, and the regions you are weighing up. Priyanka on our domestic India desk will build the India itinerary around it and price it as a land package, with travel added only if you want it.
