Lucerne is a charming mediaeval town with easy walking paths. (From Basel onwards, the Swiss Transit Pass includes traveling on Swiss public transit, including trains, buses, and boats.) Overnight in Lucerne.

After breakfast, take the morning train to Engelberg to see Mt. Titlis. TITLIS glacier park includes TITLIS Rotair, the world's first spinning cable car, glacier cave, TITLIS Cliff Walking, Europe's highest suspension bridge, and TITLIS glacier park. Come to Lucerne in the afternoon and walk across the railway station towards the dock. Your Swiss ticket includes a boat excursion on Lake Lucerne. The natural beauty, inland marine attractions, and historic landmarks strewn along the seashore will all enchant you. In the evening, take a nice long stroll down the antique and wooden Kappelbrucke (Chapel bridge) and see the famous Napoleon-era Lion Monument (a large dying lion carved out of a wall of sandstone rock above a pond, built as a memorial for the Swiss soldiers).
